Hello,
I've been looking for thread like this and couldn't been able to find it, sorry if i write it twice i really couldn't find it...

Recently, I bought a HP 6005 Pro Microtower with AMD Phenom II x2 B57 installed with it, but I am greedy, I want a little bit better CPU...

This is the case: http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-c01864939

This is the motherboard: http://www.findlaptopdriver.com/specs-hewlett-packard-3047h/

As you can see, as far as it goes is Phenom II x4 B99, but I found Phenom II x6 processors that come with same socket type as B57, and B99. I never tried using CPU which is not on support list, but I was interested in doing it now. Will the mobo accept it ? max TDP supported by mobo is 140 W while B57 is using 80W and mostly of any phenom II type processors don't use more than 95 W, some use 125 but I don't need that powerful.

So finally, can I use it ? Don't worry for cooling, power supply and such, I only need info about can my mobo use it although it's not on support list. Thanks in advance, cheers.

Sir, you obviously didn't read my post entirely. I know which socket my mobo uses, it uses AM2+/AM3, I asked a different question. Please read again if you can and help me. :)

Edit: I didn't see where I wrote that I want to use AM3+ socket anyways...

helps to reread the question lol according to AMD website the X6 specs are as follows

Model Number Frequency Total L2 Cache L3 Cache Packaging Thermal Design Power CMOS Technology

1090T* 3.2 GHz 3MB 6MB socket AM3 125W 45nm SOI
1075T 3.0 GHz 3MB 6MB socket AM3 125W 45nm SOI
1065T 2.9 GHz 3MB 6MB socket AM3 95W 45nm SOI
1055T 2.8 GHz 3MB 6MB socket AM3 125W 45nm SOI
1045T 2.7 GHz 3MB 6MB socket AM3 95W 45nm SOI

so technically speaking the socket will accept the processor as its a 941 pin processor, and within the power requirements, but I'm not an expert in this field, sure one of the more technically minded guys will chip in shortly ( no pun intended ) I would expect the bios to tell you if it doesn't like the CPU on boot.

found this on the HP forums

AMD Phenom II X6 10xxT Six-Core (Thuban core) means that a X6 1055T or 1090T or a 1075T will work.

The limiter is going to be the system BIOS, which is designed to work with the specified CPU's. Anything outside of the designed range is likely to give the BOIS a case of terminal heartburn!!--------simply because it's (the BIOS) not "seeing" what it's designed for, and shutting down (or not starting in the first place)
