Headset microphone not working.

I have razer kraken pro and i can not get the mic to pick up any sound, i have tried reinstalling, enabling/disabling, like 5 YT tutorials and can not find a solution to make it work, i'd be pleased of someone would know the awnser to this.

1| When posting a thread of troubleshooting nature, it's proper etiquette to include your full system's specs inclusive of your OS and audio equipment.
2| Have you made sure your motherboard BIOS and audio drivers are all up to date?
3| Can you link the video you'd used as a tutorial?
4| When you plug the headset to the (appropraite)soundcards output ports do you get to see any notifications in your OS about connecting and disconnecting a device?

Those headphones have combined jack (4 ring) and your computer probably has separate for jack and mic. In that case you need something like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3-5mm-Female-4-Pole-to-3-Ring-Headphone-Jack-Audio-Mic-Splitter-PC-Cable-Adapter-/400801114004 to split them.
