Hello there!

Strange situation, and I'm not sure if I should be worried. When my PC is powered down, any time I insert or remove a USB device, my wired mouse LEDs turn on as if I just booted the computer. Should I be concerned about a power issue?

My motherboard is an ASUS Maximus Ranger VIII and my PSU is an EVGA G2 1,000W. I've tried doing it with the Eco switch on the PSU both On + Off. No difference.

Let me know if I should contact my electrician! I just upgraded from a 850w to a 1,000w, and my previous PSU did the same thing.

Thanks, guys!

Nothing to worry about -- one or more of the USB ports remain 'live' so you can charge a phone or a tablet without the PC running.
A very common feature on motherboards these days.

If you don't like that feature unplug your PC from the mains supply socket, or you might even be able to disable that feature in the BIOS configuration settings.

Probably a feature. When the pc detects that you removed a usb or inserted one, it likely powers on the usb ports in case you wanted to charge a phone or something while the pc is off. Look around in your bios there might be an option for it. I highly doubt its a problem.
