Hi guys!

Is my Antec 500W PSU enough for an i5-6600K with my GeForce GTX 750 ?

I currently have an i7 860 and I'm upgrading to an i5-6600K, with the Asus Z170-A. I'll wait a bit to change the video card and keep my 750 GTX for now. I don't plan on overclocking. Thanks for your help!

Their nothing to add up for a 250 watt PC
Again depends on the model and age.

My Antec 500W is 2-2.5 years old.
On http://outervision.com/power-supply-calculator, it says that a 500W is okay, but it might look a bit borderline though.

No they are not. Specially this one is precise enough to give a general idea of the minimum PSU a PC setup needs. It has helped me many times and it was correct every time. One can even alter the CPU and GPU clocks in order to predict the needed power for overclocking.

Hey guys,

Thanks for your answers. Looks like I'll end up buying a new video card too. I'm hesitating between the GTX 1060 and the RX480. What would be your choice ? Is it worth it to get the Rx480 8gb instead of the 4gb ?

Also, It's now pretty obvious that I'll have to get a new PSU. I think 600W will be enough. Any obvious choice for the model/company ?

Thanks a lot!

If you're tight on money a rx 480 4gb will also do fine. Any decent 450/550w will be fine.
Few decent and affordable psus are:
Corsair cx450m
Seasonic S12II Series - 520W
XFX Pro Series - 450W

Not necessarily. Even a 500W Antec Basiq can handle the hardware you currently have or are intending on getting. If its only 2-2 1/2 years old you're spending money you don't need to spend replacing it.

Allright cool then..

Now I'm trying to figure out what memory to buy. Asus Z170-A specs say : DDR4 3400*(*O.C.)/ 3333*/ 3200*/ 3100*/ 3000*/ 2933*/ 2800*/ 2666*/ 2600*/ 2400*/ 2133. Knowing that I don't wanna overclock, is my only option to go with the 2133mhz ?

Thanks!

Hi guys,

So I will finally get an i5-6600K, with the Asus Z170-A and the GeForce GTX 1060 6gb. Still gotta decide which memory to buy. Any suggestions ?
I got a Samsung 840 EVO 500gb and a 7.2k HDD. Also, I currently have a 2.5 years old Antec Earthwatts 500W. I don't plan on overclocking. Will it be enough for this rig ?
Do you guys see any compatibility problems before I buy ?

Thanks a lot!
