Hello, I have started building my new computer. I saved the money and went ahead and bought all parts in one go. However, I over looked the RAM I bought and it was SODIMM instead of the normal DIMM. I divided and conquered by buying an adapter that works with my mother board. A 204 pin to 240 pin.

The motherboard supports DDR3 DIMM, and what I have bought is DDR3 SODIMM.

So my question is, by using the laptop memory with an adapter in the desktop mobo, am I going to see a performance downgrade from the memory? If so how much slower is it going to be if it runs a 1600MHz? Let me know if you need anymore information. Thanks in advance.

Solution
Except for interface and some times lower voltages, soddim is same as "regular" RAM. At same frequency and same Cl values it's going to work same.
