Motherboard/HDD in question
MSI 990fxa gaming, bios version 1.4 (most recent), and a WD black 1 TB HDD.

The problem has come up after flashing the BIOS, which fixed a previous problem with RAM incompatibility, but now I can no longer boot to the drive. The bios sees the drive, but invariably takes me to the windows boot manager asking me to insert boot media, which is odd as Windows 10 is already installed on the drive and worked fine prior to flashing the BIOS.
I should also note this isn't a matter of repairing the windows installation, as it outright does not see any installation to begin with.

I'm mildly befuddled at this point, but no research has yielded any information on my particular problem.

Welcome to the community, @Jerry!

I believe that flashing BIOS has most probably reset your BIOS settings back to factory defaults. I'd strongly recommend checking if you have the SATA mode where the WD Black is connected configured in AHCI and also check your boot priority in the settings. Make sure you have set it all up as it was before the BIOS update.
Another thing you could try is resetting BIOS using one of these methods and then re-configure the settings I mentioned above.

Hope this helps. Keep me posted if you encounter further issues.
