Recently I upgraded my Motherboard, ram, and powersupply. I just got it all in, and my pc won't boot from my Harddrive. I selected Windows Boot Manager, and it works, except my PC is super slow now. I have Windows Media Installation on my flashdrive too. Is there anyway for me to uninstall windows and reinstall it without going back to Windows 7? I am pretty sure this is the problem, but if anyone else sees what may be the problem, let me know!

System Specs (Just to be sure)
Intel i5 2400
1tb Western Digital Green
600w PSU
Nvidia 650
8gb HyperX 1866 ram (1333mhz)

Thanks!

If you haven't encountered actviation issues so...

Before you changed the hardware, you should have done this:
http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-3164428/windows-build-1607-activation.html

But...
Reinstalling Windows does NOT require going back to Win 7. Just install it.
When you do, wipe out all the existing partitions on the drive.

However, you may encounter activation issues, being a new motherboard.
If it fails to activate, you may have to call MS and plead your case.

(and you really, really shouldn't use a WD Green for your OS drive)

When you say Wipe, you mean clean the whole disk right. Meaning everything will be gone?

Well...you might try the install with "Keep everything". Worth a try, and can't work any worse than it does now.
But you'll still have the same activation issues.

Is there anyway to do this without the activation issue? What if I use my old Windows key? Will it make my windows turn to Windows 7 or will it just not work at all?

Even if I can make it where Windows boots from the correct drive, why is my computer so slow then? Will booting from Windows Boot manager do that because it is extremely slow and doesn't scale my 1080p tv correctly (about 2 inches from border of screen)

sorry about the many questions, but if you know/will answer any that you know, it will greatly help me because being out of a computer for 2 weeks, then this happening... Just sucks man

Also, I just realized I have an external harddrive. Can I put windows on that?

The computer didn't boot normally after replacing the motherboard because appropriate drivers were not yet installed in Windows... and the BIOS boot menu got it to boot but probably took longer than normal... right?, so some drivers were probably being installed during that long boot, but other drivers are still not installed and that's what may be causing slow performance.

When you replace the motherboard, the drivers included in the disk that's packaged with the motherboard should be installed... if the new motherboard is not so recent updated drivers may be available in the motherboard manufacturer's product page > Support > Downloads, so those drivers may be a better option. Do that and watch the difference.

Also if Windows is still not booting normally, install EasyBCD to repair the bootloader.

If your upgrade to Windows 10 from Windows 7 was already activated, the Windows 7 licence key is already registered in Microsoft servers as a Windows 10 key, so you don't have to go through Windows 7 to upgrade to a new Windows 10 installation... Just format the Windows 10 partition/HDD during the installation from the USB, and activate with the same product key.

Windows 10 ISO download (in case you need a fresh ISO)
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10/

EasyBCD Community Edition

If you haven't encountered actviation issues so far, is probably because Windows is still working with the previous install drivers... and installing drivers for the new motherboard may deactivate Windows but you have to risk it and install them or the present issues will not disappear. The TV screen not scaling correctly is because the motherboard drivers are not yet installed. BTW: Activation issues will only occur if your Windows is OEM... You should have no problem activating a retail version.

You can't install on the external HDD unless you make it internal.
