Need help using Ethernet and wifi

So about 2 weeks ago I got power line Ethernet, and it works like a charm. Now I have a different issue. The power line Ethernet puts out 1.7Mbps, but my WiFi puts out around 8. So is there a way to use both simultaneously? I have both connected, but when ever Ethernet is enabled, it basically overrides the WiFi, and forces it to have a slow connection. The only way i found to have faster download speeds is to just completely disable the Ethernet. Anybody have a idea on how to fix this?

That is the way it works. You can not have 2 network interface of any combination on the same network. You would need different networks and even then it is extremely hard to use both.
