Really bad frames in arma 2

So my current build basically is
750 ti 4gb
Fx 6300 (stock clocks)
2x4 1866 ram

I've had this issue for a while and finally starting to bother me so I was wondering if I need to upgrade or there's a simple fix I haven't been able to find, thanks for you help!

Arma is a very difficult game to run simply because of the way it was made.
You need a new processor and GPU if you want to improve.

For the time being,if you dont have enough cash,you can try to overclock for slightly better frames.Not much you can do,arma is really cpu intensive

I get that but I've seen some people with my same setup getting better fps in arma 3 than I do in arma 2

Is your CPU maxing out while you're playing (check Task Manager)? The GTX 750ti should be able to run it low-medium settings so it's probably either your CPU or something else.

Yes in arma 3 the cpu was at full, haven't checked I'm arma 3 yet
