Computer only booting after daily thermal paste application

Hi all, I've got a very frustrating and unusual problem which requires me to apply thermal paste to the CPU each time I need to use the computer.

The computer only starts for 5 seconds without a fresh application, then shuts down again. Once the computer is on, it stays on without any problems. Do I need to keep the computer switched on for a lengthy period so the thermal paste properly takes?

I thought about buying a new better fan as this is a stock one but this might not even solve the issue. I don't get very high temps either, which makes it all seem very strange. CPU reaches 52 degrees max when under heavy load.

I would be eternally grateful if anyone reading this has an idea how to sort this issue as it's driving me nuts!

Sounds like a hardware issue (dying capacitor or transistor) most likely inside the PSU or less likely the mainboard. You can test that by heating the psu or mainboard with a hairdrier and then try to start it up.

I have been working on computers for a long time and I can tell you it has nothing to do with the paste.A computer can run without the paste all the paste does is give you a better join from the CPU to the heatsink you're looking for something that your jarring as you remove the fan and heat sink. My advice take it into someone with more experience than yourself. And if you truly think the processor is overheating causing a no start get a liquid cooling radiator for it or simply buy a new one. You could try a cold pack and see if it help I once put a laptop on a frozen pack of corn and that allowed me to diagnose that it was overheating causing it to shut down after a bit.
