Hi, intermittently i'm losing connection to the internet. I have both a laptop and a PC, however only the PC loses connection due to this fault - both wireless connections.

I've also tried my PC in a different location and received no similar disconnects (over a 2 week period).

I've looked at various troubleshoots but a lot seem to be aimed at windows 8 whereas i'm using windows 10.

I uninstalled my network drivers and rebooted but that didn't fixed anything, i don't have any anti virus programs and so wondering where to turn to next.

I can remedy the situation by simply right click > troubleshoot on the connection icon on the toolbar but it's not a exactly a long term fix because it happens again, could be 10 minutes later, could be 10 hours.

" Issues found
The default gateway is not available Fixed
Reset the "WiFi" adapter Completed Completed
Investigate router or broadband modem issues Not run "

There's a wall of text under detection details but i'm unsure what i should or should not be sharing at this point so will not post it for time being.

Any help appreciated, cheers

Solution
try adjusting the antennas

though if that doesnt help i would either get antenna extensions or higher gain antennas with a lead long enough to place them where you get a good signal

most card antennas just screw off to allow extensions or replacing them

Hi, dl'd the add you suggested. Using channel 6 which appears to have the highest signal strength according to the graph displayed at -60 dBm and is tied for the 'recommended' channel. however, occasionally channel 6 is spiking to -10 dBm point where as the other channels seem constant. Would i be better off with something more constant even if the strength is slightly lower?

-60 seems a bit poor i get -45 when i try that app

the spike to -10 wont be right its probably a gap as it rescans or something even if you were on top of the router wouldnt get -10 i dont think

is it a usb wifi adapter or a motherboard card?

sometimes with cards the pc case blocks the signal a bit

it's a card i believe, at least it isn't connected via a usb. There's also 2 little antenna or w/e sticking out the back of my pc which presumably are for my wifi.

Yeh, i mean it's higher than -10, it's literally off the graph so presumed something was off.
