Best CPU Pairing for 1070?

Contemplating a new CPU for my build, as my current CPU (i5 3330) seems to bottleneck the build (EVGA Gtx 1070) on *some* intensive games (100% CPU load, 30-40% GPU load), yet in other games it runs fine, (50-60% CPU load, 70-80% GPU load) @ 1080p

As my CPU uses the old LGA 1155 socket, its not gonna be cheap, as I'd need to replace the mobo (H61-P31/W8)

Just trying to get some recommendations, so I have an idea on how much this is all gonna cost me for the CPU & Mobo combined.

An i5 6500 would ease that bottleneck a bit, but it depends on what framerates you're looking to get. It's good for 60fps in *most* modern games. An overclocked 6600K or i7 6700 are faster and will allow for higher framerates, but it depends on what games you're trying to play and what framerates you're trying to achieve.

i5 4590 is the lowest I'd go for pairing with a 1070. I'd look into a 6500, 6600, or a 6600k if I were you. 6600k holds its own with the 1070 beautifully in CPU-intensive games like GTA V and Cities: Skylines.
