Hello,

I have a Realtek ethernet cable which has worked in the past but since moving to this new college residence has failed. It's plugged into the wall currently and is showing Unidentified Network - No Internet Access. I spoke with the owners of the residence and they gave me specific IPs and DNSs to input, which I did, which fixed it for all of 3 hours before denying internet access again. When I enable DCHP it is able to find the network (named Network 2-8, it varies) but won't have internet access. I've read some similar posts on this forum relating to this problem but I couldn't seem to make any of them work. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Hi!
I work for an ISP and we've taken a lot of calls on this today.
The solution:
Press Win+R
Type cmd
IPCONFIG /RELEASE
IPCONFIG /RENEW
Then got a correct ip address like 192.168.X.X

Hi Iatvan_77,

I have a very similar problem. I replaced my NIC because It wore out. After installation I got the same message. Calling my ISP(Verizon), we went through the steps you mentioned as well as some other steps, I can't remember all of them, but one involved winsock. Anyway, I wound up paying for their premium tech support and their bottom line was that I needed to reinstall Windows 10 because some of the network handling code was most likely corrupted,

Do you know of a less drastic solution?

Thanls

Hi!
Try to set a fix ip address to the NIC.
Like this video:
https://youtu.be/0mIRro3vwus
But set the dns is the google public dns address
Dns1 8.8.8.8
Dns2 8.8.4.4
Then disable NIC adapter ad enable again or reboot your computer.
If this not help try to disable the TCP IP PROTOCOL IPv6
