I'm looking to build a new a pc and need a good motherboard to go with it. The ATX motherboard needs to be under 150 dollars and have ddr4 ram. I also want to overclock the i5-6600k, with a water cooler, so it needs the Z170 chipset. Don't need SLI support. And the motherboard needs to be black, maybe some white and a bit of blue(probably no Asrock then).

I'm looking at the phanteks pro m acrylic case with 5-6 case fans. How would I connect all five or six and should this effect my mother board decision?

Any help is appreciated!!!

Solution
If planning to OC as you say will want a decent power phase design for OCing the E has like a 4 phase design, the A has a 10 (8+2) which is far better

The only blue theme Z170 board that I know of is the Gigabyte Z170X-UD3 Ultra but it's $175.

That leaves us with the MSI Z170A PC MATE ($109.99+2.99 Shipping @ Newegg) as the one that best fit your description of what you want.

It features 2x CPU fan headers for liquid cooling, 3x chassis headers for case fans, and the simplest solution to use 5-6 case fans with it is with splitter cable like these Silverstone:
> Silverstone CPF02 11.81" 300mm (100mm/100mm/100mm) Black Sleeved One-to-Three PWM Fan Splitter ($4.99+1.99 Shipping @ Newegg)
> Silverstone CPF01 3.94" PWM Fan Splitter Cable ($4.03 @ Newegg)

I was looking at the Asus Z170-E, as the "A" version is a bit too pricey. They both seem pretty similar.

I didn't want the mother board to be completely blue, I was okay with it having touches of blue, but the actual colour I would like is black or white.

What do you think of the Asus Z170-E ATX board? It also seems to have 2 CPU fan headers, the only problem is the 2 Fan connectors. What would be a way around that? I know I could connect the extra 1 fan to the PSU, but it would mean the fan going at full speed, all the time.

Thanks for you help!

A friend of mine currently has the Asus Z170-E and an i5-6600K, overclocked to 4.6GHz with a hyper 212 EVO.
Now most likely he just got lucky with the performance of his chip, but it still seems like a decent motherboard, I don't think the 4-phase power design should bottleneck you too much.
Also, for your fan problem, you can pick up some fan splitters at your local computer store for a few bucks, and it shouldn't run at full speed.

How better though, I don't plan to overclock way too much, would the "E" be enough for that, or is the extra money really worth it. I'm only using the i5-6600k to overclock.
