What games are cpu intenseive genre wise

It depends on the game and likely the game engine they use I think more so than the genre of game. Some games like gtaV tend to scale well despite having action in them. Some games like cs:go are more cpu intensive and can run high fps without putting too much stress on the gpu while others like witcher3 can be stressful to both cpu and gpu. Some games are optimized better than others.

As an over-arching answer, games that tend to look towards computations more than graphical quality tend to have more of a lean on the CPU. Games like WoW (MMORPGs), RTS as mentioned above, open world games tend to be more stressful to your CPU than other genres. Again, that's an over-arching answer, and does not take into account corner cases.
