Is an i5 4440 CPU going to greatly bottleneck a GTX 1070? I don't want to go out and buy a better CPU unless I really have to. I'm looking to play games like battlefield 4 at ultra graphics settings.

What about a game like DayZ Standalone? Is a 1060 enough for something like that, at the highest possible graphics settings you can throw on it? I'm looking for anything over a stable 60 frames per second

I think you're thinking of rust.

DayZ SA is that zombie game based off of that arma mod, if you forgot
Right now, I'm running a GTX 760 ti with a i5 4440, and I can run the game at really low settings at between 30-70 frames. I want to be able to ramp up the graphics all the way and get the highest framerate possible.

Would you reccommend a GTX 1060 or a GTX 1070?

I think I'd be better off with a 1070, but I don't have that much, and if I were to get one, I wouldn't be able to upgrade my processor and other parts for at least another year. What do you reccommend I do, invest in a 1060 and get a better processor in a few months, or invest in a 1070 and wait a year and some more for a better CPU?

The gtx 1070 will ofcourse be a huuuugee upgrade from a gtx 760 even when the i5 bottlenecks the 1070 you will still get much better performance.

Just keep in mind that in some games the i5 will bottleneck the 1070, especially in games like Battlefield 1 etc. It also depends on what fps you want, 60fps should be do able, but then I recommend getting the gtx 1060. If you are aiming for 144fps, then the i5 will bottleneck the 1070 and an i7 would be a better option then.

the extra threads on an i7 will not help in gaming.
