When I launch some games it will let me play for a couple minutes and then my monitor will go blank and a "No signal" error will pop up. I've tried unhooking my DVI cable and hooking it back up but to no avail. I have an RX 480 and enough my CPU is great. The 480 is fresh out of the box. Should I try to use HDMI or is the problem more serious? It only does this when I load up certain games and it will work for one game mode and not for another. I did not have this issue with a different card that I had before (GT 740SE)

GPUS come in with their own type of ram, VRAM. That type of ram is dedicated to the GPU. Im not sure if the system ram affects the gpu in any way or if the gpu pulls in ram from the system, but if it did pull it in from the system it would have to be that there is no VRAM left. Not sure though.

When it says no signal, does your pc power off (do the leds turn off and is sounds still coming out). If the pc is turning off, It might be that your RAM is crashing the pc. Try switching your ram sticks when it happens and see if that solves the problem. Is your DVI cable connected to the back of your motherboard or on the GPU because sometimes this causes a problem, make sure it is plugged in the back of your GPU. Get an application that can display the temperature of your GPU (GPU-Z) and when you think it is going to crash keep an eye on your temperature. If it is on the high end, you need to cool your gpu more by maybe increasing the gpu fan speeds but that shouldnt be the problem anyway.
