Hello. I would like to know, if possible, if I can use two different voltage dual channel kits on my pc build. I bought a Kingston HyperX Genesis 8GB (2x4GB), DDR3, 1600MHz, CL9, 1.65V, XMP, Grey kit a few years ago, works like a charm, kudos on the product, but I think it's time to add another 8 gigs of RAM. The problem is that the HyperX Genesis kit is not being sold anymore, for some reason, I can't seem to find it anywhere. And the RAM that I can find are all 1.5 V kits. Is there any reason 1.65V kits aren't sold anymore ? Can I mix the kit I have (1.65V) with a Kingston HyperX Savage Red 8GB(2x4GB), DDR3, 1600MHz, CL9, 1.5V kit or any other 1.5V kit? What would be the downside of mixing them? Can i make it work? Looking forward for your reply. Thank you.

+1 2x8GB is best bet, the older 1.65 set will prob require running the new at the same 1.65 which isn't really a good thing. 1.65 at 1600 is indicative of using weaker memory chips and the additional voltage to the new will build up heat

It may work together it may not. Usually the further the specs are apart the less likely it is they will play nicely, but even having identical specs sometimes doesnt work. The only way to garantee compatibility is buy the ram in a kit. Given the current price of ram I'd just fet a 16gb kit (2x8Gb) and sell the old ram or keep it(having known good ram around can be useful).
