So I have had a headset for my computer for around 3 months and the first 2 months it worked great, no problems what so ever all I had to do was plug it in and It worked, well I came across a problem because I believe it was 3 weeks ago I was playing on a game and the microphone worked fine but the next morning when I went to plug it back in only one ear on the microphone works now, I tried to go through and restore my default settings on my control panel but only one ear is working still, I might have missed something in my control panel though so if anyone has any suggestions please let me know, I would really like to fix this soon if possible. Also my computer is only a year old so it can't be the motherboard or anything and it's pretty clean.

Solution

Sorry for the confusion it's a headset that has a microphone attached to it and the headphone part of it, only the right ear on it works the left ear doesn't and yes I have tried to put the plugs into the front and back jacks on the case but nothing changes

Yes it's a 2 x 3.5mm connector, just to add one thing I also have Sony headphones which is the same 3.5mm connector and it works perfectly when I plug it into my computer so I don't know why my headset would act differently?

Unfortunately they are not under warranty that I know of but I will probably just toss the headset out and wait a couple months for a new one to arrive, thanks for all your help
