hdd with OS can't boot

Hi,
I just tried to connect my pc hdd to my laptop (unsuccessfully) via sata to usb adapter. the disk cannot be seen in my computer menu , but only in device manager. then i tried to put it back on the pc but it can't boot the disc. (tried many different bios settings and sata slots but nothing help )
any help would be appreciated.

i manage to find a solution to my problem and i will share it with you just in case anyone else have the same problem. I tried several different disk partition programs, but nothing did the job. the disk still was seen as unallocated when it was connected to my laptop.
then I remount it on my pc and try to install windows from cd just to see if pc see it as unpartitioned too and yes it was. Then i choose system recovery option and then startup repair, the pc reboot and detected my OS.
