Hi there,
So basically I bought some pc parts a while back and ended up getting a 580w hiper HPU-4M580, just on the side i don't use it at all or anything. It looks pretty nice to me, better than my 2a psu, and was wondering what tier it is, because if it beats an antec earthwatts I'd probably rig it up but if not no problem. I was looking online and it said that hiper was a good company in a couple of places but I'm really not sure. Any opinions/feedback will be welcomed. Thank you!

I've never heard of Hiper before and a quick look at Newegg shows that they stopped selling them. Most of the positive reviews for the pages I could find seemed suspicious though when compared to the genuine sounding negative ones.

Is this your PSU: http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story&reid=85 ???

If so, it's an older Andyson design. Suffers from poor(ish) cooling, and has a pointlessly excessive 5V rail (by 2016 standards, even by 2008 standards).

It was 'old' in 2008. It's ok, not likely to blow up or anything, but I wouldn't say it's a worthwhile purchase.

An Antec Earthwatts are quality PSUs, and much newer also.
