so basically as the title states for my school work I need to design certain computers based on specific purposes. I have done editing and gaming but I struggle with business computers. I always get components too expensive and not needed and I need help deciding on things to get. I was thinking a core i5 and a gt 210. this is because they are cheap and the computers are for documents etc. I would add a 1tb hdd and a 120ssd do decrease load times with 4gb of ram. is this ok or could it be more efficient

You don't even need an i5. I issue people HP Elite 8100 i3-530 refurbs, zero problems. 4gb of RAM is fine, its what I use, but obviously 8 is that sweet spot if it doesn't break your budget. Same with the SSD if you can fit it in the budget awesome, if not it really doesn't hurt them so long as the HDD is 7200 RPM model.

Just use a i3-6100 no discrete GPU needed.
