I just bought a Toshiba Satellite C55 laptop with a Celeron processor and Windows 10. At first it was moderately slow, but for the sale price, it wasn't unbearable and I was still able to access all the online websites I wanted and complete all my usual activities with no real problems. Then it started getting slower and slower, it would not allow me to scroll down when reading an article and would often simply crash and end up giving me the "non responsive...kill or wait" message. In short, it behaved the same as my previous laptop behaved when I had a virus.
I took my laptop to a local IT guy who is supposed to be very good. He charged me $100, said it was normally a bit slow (Celeron processor with Windows 10), but that he had found a mid-level virus and fixed it so it should run ok now. When I got it home, I still had the same problem. I took it back,he said he tweaked a couple of things and I brought it home....still the same problems...in fact they seem worse.
I'm at my wit's end with this machine. Any idea what's going on here?
