I have dell 990 optiplex currently with stock everything except for a gtx 960 for gaming that does extremly well. Cpu is the. I5 2500k. In a couple months or even sooner i hope to upgrade my cpu to a faster i5 or i7. Just wanted to know if theres actually any cpu faster than the 17 2600k thay will work in these things. If not ill jist leave it how it is for a year until i build a pc from scratch.

The i5-2500K is more than enough to keep up with the GTX 960. And plenty for handling lots of gamers on a busy server. But if you want to invest in a different CPU... the i7-2600 is the only one faster that is spec'd to work with your machine according to Dell.
