I go to HP's website, search the model number and find my computer driver updates. I download the BIOS update and follow the instructions, it says it has installed successfully and the computer needs a restart. So I click yes to restart now. When the computer finishes loading, I check the BIOS version and it is the exact same version it was before.

For some reason, it seems like it updated after I left it off for a few hours while I was at school. I was updating because I'm installing a GPU and it was giving me beeps. Googled the beeps and all of the websites I checked suggested to update my BIOS. It didn't work unfortunately, my mobo is too old

Did you load defaults before attempting to update BIOS? This is usually not the problem, but it's a good place to start.

Yes, that symptom is proof of the problem. However, I'm not quite sure how to correct it. Please wait while I contact some other knowledgeable users.

What is the reason for the BIOS update? No need to update it unless it fixes an issue you are having.
