Is it possible to use both these programs together for the mentioned purposes? I like Afterburner's OSD but i like the set up for Overclocking on Precision X.

Solution
Yes. I used Asus GPU tweak to overclock my 970 and Afterburner to monitor. I do need to clarify that a wee little bit. As far as monitoring is concerned I am talking about its in game OSD. I used Asus Tweaks logs to keep track of the raw data. I could have just as easily also used MSI's Log function that I can enable through the Monitoring tab of its settings.

oh i just like how afterburner tells me pretty much everything without any extra software attached. It shows me CPU temps and core usage. something i noticed EVGA precision X lacks. I just wanted to make sure it will actually work with out causing the two OC softwares to glitch out.

There won't be any sort of technical issues. One could even use Afterburner and Fraps at the same to if they wanted to make sure their FPS were being reported correctly.
