Just recently upgraded to a new rig, with a new hard drive so clean installed Windows 7 pro.
However spotted a memory leak almost instantly. The svchost process was taking over 1.5GB ram, and narrowed the service to wuauserv, which is the Windows update service.
Thing is, I need to update my windows, as I haven't done that yet, when I search for a Windows update, it wouldn't find one, plus that's when the memory leak happens-if I stop the service and then start to search for the update.
The memory leaks happens almost as soon as I login.
I'm not sure I can permanently stop the wuauserv process as I need to update Windows, but I think I can't update Windows because of the wuauserv memory leak, or would it still work?
Or do you think a Windows reinstall action would fix it?
This is also causing my CPU to stay in turbo speeds even when idling.
