Hello guys and gals,
I started by purchasing these parts to add to my rig:
I briefly got the computer to run with 1 stick of my old ram (Not the new Corsair Vengeance), but then it stopped booting even with that one stick. I spent a total of about 30 hours troubleshooting and figured I must have goofed up my motherboard.
So then I bought:
I hooked all of this up and could not get it to POST. Taking out one of the sticks of ram I got the computer to POST and then boot up my windows install. I installed windows 7 onto the SSD and then installed some drivers and upgraded the bios. Lastly I upgraded to windows 10. The next day I started having errors booting. The computer would POST and then it would either freeze while I was typing my password to log into windows, or freeze right after entering the password and loading windows. Each time the computer would freeze and I force shut it down and restarted the motherboard would display no codes at all on the LED, and the it would shut down and turn on over and over every 2-3 seconds. I figured out that turning it off and moving the ram stick to another slot, or taking it out and putting it back in would make it so that next time I started it up it would POST and load windows, but half of the time it would freeze causing this to happen again. Also I tested the other stick of ram and never got the computer to get past error code 55. I was having trouble getting into bios settings pressing the delete key as if it would not recognize that the key was pressed most of the time. Also when I did get into bios here and there it was receiving very sporadic input, as if someone was holding the "enter" key or the "down arrow" key.
For fun, I decided to reinstalled windows 7 again and then upgraded to windows 10 and the computer was totally fine with the whole procedure. I was even able to use it for a full day playing some games and doing some work. Then strange little problems started occuring. The cursor that shows you were you are typing started to leave an outline of itself when it was supposed to completely disappear. It would go away if I moved the cursor, but if I move the cursor with arrow keys there would be a trail of the cursor positions left behind. Typing anything would remove all of these marks. I tried to ignore it but the computer got worse. Eventually It took about 5 minutes to rename a folder, so I decided to restart the computer to see if it would help and it took 7 minutes for the computer to shut down. It started back up very quickly, but I shut it down and have not turned it back on partially out of irritation.
I know one of those memory sticks is bad, and these sticks are not specifically supported on the motherboards support list. I decided to order these:
They are supported according to the Z170X Gaming GT's list of supported memory so that's one less thing to worry about I guess. They will arrive tomorrow and maybe it will fix my problem?
I also just thought about how I accidentally pulled out a sata cable from the nice new 750 EVO without pressing down on the clip. It definitely bent the plastic that the clip holds onto, and maybe it messed up the SSD. If the new memory does not fix the problems I will try the SSD in another computer of mine and re-install windows and play on it for a few days to see if that is the issue.
Sorry for the long post, but this has been bugging me. Hopefully someone here has some ideas, or maybe wants to share my hope that this new ram may fix my issues? If that does not do you think it may be a messed up SSD problem? I'll let you know what happens.
Thanks,
AnthonyGDI

The new memory "F4-3000C15D-16GTZ" has been put into the motherboard and for once I got it to POST and boot windows with 2x8GB memory! All 16 GB are recognized and the computer seems great. I only ran the computer for about three minutes and then I had to shut it down and leave. I will go home in about 6 hours to beat it up a bit with some gaming and work.
I still see the strange cursor problem where my text cursor is leaving a trail behind it. That is not normal... does anyone have any links for issues related to this? I'll see if I can upload a picture of this.
The cursor was on the right of all of the string, it flashed on and off creating the double || outline where it was resting, and then I pressed the left arrow to scroll to the left one by one and it left a trail behind it. In the image it currently rests on the left of all of the string. I have already tried a different keyboard with no luck.
(Does anyone know how to make this image smaller? Seems a bit large)
