Can I reinstall an OEM Windows 7 copy on a completely new motherboard and hard-drive?

Hi guys,

Simple question here, am I able to reinstall a copy of OEM Windows 7 on completely new hardware? I heard that I can as long as I activate it via phone but I would like confirmation of this as I have also heard you can't reinstall OEM copies at all.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

If Microsoft is sympathetic, you may be able to ( and the vast majority of the time they are.) If they are in a bad mood, they won't let you (OEM terms tie it to the original system only.) You won't know until you contact them. Otherwise you risk piracy charges.
