Hi guys, im looking forward to upgrade my gigabyte gtx 970 g1 to a GTX 1XXX (still looking for the best option for me).

And i was wondering if these water cooled GPU's (msi sea hawk for example) worth it?

I mean, my 970 g1 doesnt make any noise, and i overclock it, reaching +200 core clock on MSI AFTERBURNER, still pretty silent and temperature never reached 70ºC.

Does anybody here have a thought about these water cooled GPU's? I really cant see any huge improvement from them. Sorry any grammar mistakes.

Solution
They are great in terms of overclocking, and maintaining low noise output.

That said, the gpus are using less and less power, making them generate less heat, and the air coolers are getting better, so "worth it" is subjective. It will be worth it to some people, not others.

Sure your card is "pretty silent" and doesnt reach 70'c. The Liquid cooled ones can have the fan running at its slowest setting on max load, and not even hit 55'c.

Solution
There is a point for using water cooled gpus, it helps to keep the temperature low enough to prevent gpu boost 3.0 to downclock the boost clock. This means if your card can reach the max boost clock of 2114mhz, it can potentially keep that boost clock always on 2114mhz.
Depending on the games/applications, you may see a negligible difference or a small difference.
