6600k Can't increase CPU cpu multiple cores

My problem is that I can't increase the multiple more than 39
CPU: I5 6600k
Motherboard: Asus Z170M Plus

Make sure you update the bios to the latest version for your motherboard. Since you are on a z170 platform, you should be able to overclock more than just the turbo.

I tried to transfer the CAP file to a usb flash drive and install it via Asus EZ Flash 3, but I got the message "selected file is not a proper bios". what should I do?

Did you try to install it from the bios directly or from software in windows? CAP files are the correct files for bios updates

Ah. Hmm. Try doing a clear cmos then try to update bios. Maybe thatll work. You have to make sure that the CAP file is extracted from any zip file if it was in one.
