Hello community,

I'm going to update my pc after 6 years, I work in 3D with Octane, Zbrush and Houdini.

I have already bought these parts:

  • Intel i7 6900k
    128 gb ballistix sport lt
    Asus x99 ws e
    Samsung 850 evo 500
    2 geforce gtx 980 ti

My questions are on the rest of the components, like power supply and case, here is what I'm planning to buy:

  • 2x Western Digital 2TB Black Caviar 2 TB
Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound 3.5g
    Corsair H100i Gtx Hydro Serie
    Corsair Obsidian 750d
Evga Supernova 1000w 80 Plus Gold Modular
    Atomlux Ups 2000

- In a future I may add a 3rd gtx 980 ti, will 1000w be enough? or should I go for 1200 or up?
- I'm missing any fundamental component for a build?
- Will the case Corsair 750d work for this?
- Will the temperature be ok with that Corsair H100i Gtx hydro? (I live in a hot city, but I also have my air conditioner just below my PC, not ideal but may help in summer)

Thanks!

You mentioned the 2 wd black drives, to be used independently or were you planning to use them in raid? If in raid I'd advise against using those and instead consider re's or red pro's instead. The wd black are essentially the same as the re4/re enterprise drives except they're really only suitable for single drive setups (non raid, multiple drives would work as well) due to lengthened error recovery times. Those error recovery times can cause the wd black's to drop out of a raid array.

Thanks SkittishGaming, I'll go with the h115.

synphul the 2 wd black drives are going to be used independently for storage. The samsung evo 850 for the OS.

Thanks!
