GPU fan rattling

My GPU fan rattles at around 2000 RPM. If it spins slower or quicker than 2000 it doesn't rattle. It only rattles if the case is put vertically, when it's placed sideways the fan is quiet. I tried tightening the fan screws, but it still persists. I also tried to see if the fan could be touching anything, but didn't really find anything. What could be the problem?

Gainward GTX 1060. It sounds like it would be touching something, but I can't see anything. And why would it only make noise at 2000RPM and be quiet when the case is sideways?

Yes, I used PrecisionX to set the speed of my fans to around 2000RPM and it was making the rattling sound. Anything lower or higher is fine.

Maybe there's something caked in (sticker stuck) on one of the blades to cause it to go off balance?

It's similar to car tires. They get vibrations when a car runs at a certain speed if unbalanced.

You don't want to send it to them only for them to say the fault is yours and charge you for s&h.

Does this card have that 0db fan thing (where the fans turn off below 60c)? Did the problem start after you manually set the RPM?

If either of those are true, do not force a fan duty cycle and just let it do its own thing. For whatever reason (I have a gtx 970 with the 0db thing) setting a manual speed or letting the software control the fan results in a LOT of noise.

I only manually set the speed after the problem has occured, to test it out. And I do not use PrecisionX all the time (except for testing), I use the stock GPU settings.
It does have the 0db function, though.
