Intel Core i5-2400 with GTX 750ti

Solution
That happens to be the combo I am running in my Optiplex 780 SFF. I have a few 1080p benchmarks from Heaven, Valley, Firestrike, Metro LL if you are interested.

So it "OBVIOUSLY" is better than my current CPU - Core 2 Duo E8400

Only in single core and quad core. Haswell refresh IS a tiny bit faster than pre-refresh core for core.
The hyper-threaded quad core still beats the quad core in everything multi-core according to the chart.

I've tested the 4770K against the 4690K. I had both. The 4770K wins even despite lower clocks. I tested a 4.6GHz Core i5 4690K against a 4.5GHz Core i7 4770K. The i7 scored a single core Cinebench 11.5 benchmark score of 2.05 and the Core i5 scored 2.00. I attribute that to the extra 2MB of L3 cache on the 4770K. Both are Haswell. The Devil's Canyon chips are better overclockers and they have better power delivery to the chip but other than that they are exactly the same. Where you got the idea that the Haswell refresh chips are faster per core I have no idea. A 3.5GHz haswell i7 is better than a haswell i5 at 3.5GHz even a refresh haswell. Both chips turbo to 3.9GHz and both have 3.5GHz base clocks. That 2MB of extra cache on the i7 makes the same as a 100MHz difference according to my testing. Please let me know where it says anywhere online that a Haswell refresh is faster per clock than a regular Haswell. From a credible source please.

I just don't like news to be spread about stuff that isn't true and if there's something I don't know the truth about I want to know the truth so I don't do that myself. I'm not meaning to start a war or anything like that. If the Haswell refresh is any faster per clock I'd like to know about it. According to my testing it's not and according to what I've heard it's not. You're the only source I've heard that say's it is faster. Now it is faster because it's clocked higher and can potentially overclock further but it's not actually any different architecturally that I know of.
