Hello,
I'm assembling components for my first ever gaming PC build and need to figure out what motherboard will cover all my needs. Was looking at Z170 mobos. I have an i5 6600k CPU along with 4 sticks of RAM (2GB Corsair 1600 DDR3L). What are some options that I should be looking at? Looking in the $120-$150 range. Thank you!

Solution
Be best to go the DDR4 route, might look at the Asus Z170-A and invest in a 2x4GB set of 2133 (or better) DDR4. The 6600K is designed to run at a base of 2133 DDR4, it is backward compatible to DDR3L but 1600 is a big drop

The memory only cost me $20, so would it be better to upgrade the memory and mobo or will this this be good enough to get me started at a mid-level? Also, if this is dual channel and I have four sticks of RAM, I wouldn't be able to use all of them correct? If that was the case, I my just look to a mobo that supports DDR4 and upgrade my memory. Thoughts?
