Hi.

So my CPU fan suddenly started working on 3000RPM. I checked every setting, and tried everything, but nothing helped. One thing I found out, if I pull out the video card, it works fine.
I made a video of it. In the beggining it's puiled out, it's silent, then I plug it in and sounds like a vacuum cleaner.

I also made pictures of the BIOS settings.

Thank you in advance.

Your running a Asus M5A99x or 97 motherboard by the look of it.

Why is your high performance processor computing mode disabled in the bios Dinter ?
It should be enabled, enable the mode or it will effect the performance of the system. Hold it back.

I have looked at your video card you have in the system can you tell me what model of video card it is.
I can also see that you have a very cheap and low powered Psu of 400w.

Have you not noticed the red led light on the Asus motherboard blinking on and off in red colour.
It means you do not have enough wattage and amp rating on the cheap 400w psu to drive the card with the 12v Pci-e power connectors in it.

When you have a half decent graphics card in your Pci-e card slot before anything you need to check that the Psu in the system can provide enough wattage, and amps for the 12v power rails.

Bellow is a link to a list of what graphics cards require for power from a power supply unit.
in wattage and amp rating.

Your power supply is clearly not up to the job of powering the graphics card, plus the rest of the components of the system as they also require power from the Psu in watts and amps.

Simply you need to buy a better quality power supply unit that has a wattage out put stated in the list bellow for the graphics card you have in the system.

And not a cheap PSU of poor quality.
Click on the list bellow to see what power supply you will require.

Hi.

I have an Asus M5A97 EVO R2.0 motherboard , Gigabyte HD6870 videocard, and Chieftec GPS400A 400W PSU. I didnt't touch the HPC mode, it was the default setting.

The blinking is because it's checking whether the video card is installed or not.

And if the PSU is not proper, why did it work so long? Will a new PSU surely solve this problem?

Regards,
Dinter
