Depends on what you are looking to spend. The Z170a, that CTurbo recommended is a decent board. The Gigabyte GA-Z170XP-SLI, is cheaper, and has a better audio solution, but may not overclock as well. Going towards a bit more expensive is the SABERTOOTH Z170 S.

Im not looking to overclock I just want a good motherboard that is compatible with the i5 6600k processor and is good for gaming.

If you are not going to overclock, save your money and just get an i5 6500 with a Gigabyte GA-H170-GAMING 3. If you never intend to overclock, getting the 6600k is pointless. For a proper 6600k setup, you could probably do an i7 6700, stock cooling, and the same H170 board.

Well the Gigabyte logainofhades suggested would be fine as would the Asus-Z170-E.

If it's not too late, save yourself a lot of money and just get the regular i5 6600 and a H170 motherboard. It doesn't sound like the i5 6600k is a good choice for you.

AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz
GA-78LMT-S2
350w power supply
R7 250A

Im in college so I would like to go as cheap as possible

I just want an overall better gaming experience. (I'm into military simulation games like ARMA and Squad, but Squad runs better in intel than AMD so that is one reason for a new processor and mother board.
