960m 2GB VS 960M 4GB: more VRAM or better CPU

Hello, I am looking for a new laptop that is not too expensive because I already have a rig at home, I am stock between the Asus ROG and the Dell

Asus offers a better cpu for lower VRAM but the Dell has a SSD and a 4gb 960m, I dont know which one to choose. I don't plan on playing anything crazy, probably just RL or something at that level but may do some editing on it. PLS HELP ME CHOOSE

a 960m cannot make use of the 4GB of VRAM in pretty much any given situation. a better CPU, and slightly lower price both point to the Asus laptop.

The Asus ROG is the better deal, but you would NEED to add a ssd. A 5400rpm hdd would feel slow.

The Dell ONLY has 256Gb storage which is like nothing.

If you have never used a SSD before, HDDs are fine, I find the issue arises after the first SSD is purchased, when one gets the urge to buy an SSD for everything.

I have SSD's on all my rigs and honestly, I dont know why I am having so much trouble picking a good laptop, I'm not a newbie or anything and I am familiar with all of this stuff but I would think the boot up time of the HDD would KILL MEEEE

yeah once you have used one, you will want to keep doing so. so get the cheaper asus one with the great CPU, and then use the $30 saved and throw that towards a decent SSD. I am unable to find whether it supports M.2 drive though, I would think it would based on its chipset though.
even if not this SSD here is a great one, and it is 512GB for $150. it is pretty fast as Sata III SSDs go.
