Hello, I recently bought a new SSD Drive for my OS and installed Windows 8.1.
The first thing I did was download all of the drivers from my motherboard site and installed them.
I've then attempted many times to install the drivers for my video card using the Radeon Crimson installers, and AMD's auto detect utility. The Auto-detect utility seems to recognize that I'm using a "Radeon HD 7xxx Series PCIe" card, which is good, but every time I try and install the Display Drivers it ends up failing.
Another big issue here is that the video card doesn't appear under my device manager.
The only 'Display Adapter' that shows up is "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter" and there are no unknown devices.
Things I've tried:
- Using DDU
- Reinstalling Chipset Drivers
- Reinstalling Windows (again)
- Re-seating the card
- Using another PCIe Port
- Plugging in my old HDD to see if it's still works there (it does)
Relevant Specs:
Motherboard: Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3
Video Card: Sapphire HD 7870
OS: Windows 8.1 64-bit
Please help me get my PC running again!
