Upgrading from a GTX 650ti boost to ....?

Hello folks,

small bit of advice needed!
I am currently looking into upgrading my GPU, mainly for the purpose of playing Lockheed Martins P3D and some other current-gen Sims.
Now, my 650ti boost handles these applications fairly well, albeit on a medium setting. (1080p for now, maybe going 4k in the future..)
I was looking into the new GTX 10xx series and the 1080 looks pretty solid. I am, all though somewhat on the fence here, on wether or not to wait for the TI cards.

Also if opting for the 1080, does anyone recommend any card in particular? I was looking at the Gigabyte g1 model.

My current setup:

I7 4790k
Gigabyte z87x-ud5h
8gb DDR3 Corsair Vengeance 1600Mhz
Corsair AX760 PSU

Any input is appreciated!
Cheers

1080 is overkill for 1080p. As for 4k, then you'll want a 1070 or 1080 based on your price range.
MSI tends to have some of the better tuned video cards, but I feel like that might be mostly opinion based by consumers. Just looking at the reviews...
I don't think there should be any bottlenecking, despite being a little old the 4790k still works quite well...

So do I get a 1080 or wait for the ti models?

Depends on what you want, I think either will be good for a long time despite the next generation inevitably outperforming them. If you want a specific card, I think the best you can get is the MSi Gaming X series. The coolers are quiet and effective and the card performs well as expected from NVIDIA.
