I am in the process of getting a new PC and everything except the case has arrived. I am wondering if it will be alright for me to install my ram and cpu into my mother board now, while I am waiting for my case. My case will arrive in 5 days, so there is a bit of a wait. And if I install my cpu and ram now how would I store my motherboard?

Solution
Yes, of course. That is the way I usually start a build. Assemble the board/CPU/Cooler/RAM and drop it in the case. In fact, now would be a good time to breadboard the system before putting it in the case to be sure there are no DOA parts.
