How to take advantage of Dual intel LAN?

I saw the two motherboards, one is MSI X99A Tomahawk other is ASUS X99-A II.
The biggest difference is Dual lan on MSI X99A　Tomahawk.
MSI X99A Tomahawk has Dual Gigabit LAN and was wondering if there is anything i can do to take advantage of that to get better performance.
MSI X99A Tomahawk Intel I218LM & Intel I210AT Dual LAN
ASUS X99-A II Intel I218V single LAN

The only benefit from dual LAN ports is to ability to team them. This provides fault tolerance and bandwidth increase amongst other things, but in a home environment, you're unlikely to need and benefit from teaming.

NIC teaming.
Basically you can double your throughput of your LAN connection if your hardware supports (switch with 802.3ad or LACP) it and for redundancy (one port fails, the traffic is routed through the other port).

Example:

NIC 1-------------------------------> Gigabit Switch port 1 (same switch for both nics)
NIC 2-------------------------------> Gigabit Switch port 2

It is best used if that system is a server hosting media files. Multiple systems could stream high quality video without the server choking it's network connection.
