Well, I am switching from "Intel i3-2100" I used it for like 3 or 4 years. I will buy a new motherboard because I saw that my motherboard socket doesn't support Amd Processors.
The Motherboard is "Intel Corporation DH61WW"
I will buy "Gigabyte AM3+ AMD 970 SATA" Motherboard Because It supports Amd processors.

you're an idiot if u buy amd fx processors nowadays. you get better results with intel 4*** /6*** series(same price).

Do not buy the FX 6300, its a extemely slight upgrade from the i3 2100 and will cost alot to upgrade. Get a i5 2400 or i5 3570 if you want an upgrade, they will be used on ebay etc.

First off let me say seriously regardless of what someone chooses as their CPU\GPU your opinion should never include name calling.... People we are here to help and while it is hard we should try to answer the question itself by trying to be as unbiased as possible because in the end you are only providing your opinion which doesn't automatically make you right no matter how tilted your thoughts are one way or the other in terms of fanboyism.
At any rate while it is true the FX line is ancient and will soon be and should have been replaced a long time ago it would still be a noticeable upgrade over the CPU you are using right now. What's going to hurt you the most though is using such slow speed memory with that process because in the event the CPU isn't a bottleneck the memory will become one since they both play a role in performance.

You will get a i5 3570 for cheaper than an FX 6300+Motherboard. And the i5 3570 is much much more powerful.
