Gainward Pheonix GS vs Zotac AMP - 1060 which is best?

I decided to get 1060GTX. I can't choose between Gainward and Zotac. Don't bother about the warranty period and looks. I would prefer performance. Gainward's having memory clocks at 4000mhz but zotac with 8000mhz. Does it affect performance? Base clocks and base clocks are comparitively high. So please tell me what's best for performace.

I really don't know how to explain it. I will post in the heralds section and see if somebody can post an explanation on here for you. But I can pretty much guarantee their is nothing to worry about they will both have the same memory clock speed.

They both have memory clock of 8000mhz. They will perfom pretty much the same, base clocks don't really matter in my opinion both can likely be overcloked far beyond the base clock. Honestly warranty, looks, build quality, cooling, and noise are what you should be concerned with, all 1060 6gb's will perform about the same.

I cant explain it very well but they both mean the same thing, gainward just didn't double it in their spec sheet something to do with the DDR (Double data rate) standard. No 1060 has an effective memory speed of 4000mhz that would be quite slow for a gpu.

Thanks for that. So I'm going with Gainward 1060 Phoenix GS edition. I know gainward isn't very popular brand but would it be fine without any issues? I heard palit bought gainward and they release in the name of it. Just wondering to clarify this and about that 4000mhz clocks for gainward

I skimmed through a couple professional reviews of that gainward card and seems like a nice card to me. I personally have no expiernce with gainward as far as customer service and warranty goes but the card itself looks nice and I would consider buying it if it was going for a good price as well.

Both are correct and all you're seeing is Zotac advertising effective memory speed and Gainward for some reason advertising actual memory speed. GDDR5 is G ( graphics )DDR and DDR is double data rate. It moves information on both the rising and falling edges of the clock cycle. So you double the actual speed to get the effective speed just like you do with CPU-Z and your system memory. It sounds better to advertise it at the effective rate though so that's what most companies do.
