I have been looking at the Asus video cards. Asus is good and they match up to my motherboard Asus Z170-A. There is DUAL-GTX1060-O6G, DUAL-GTX1060-6G, TURBO-GTX1060-6G, ROG STRIX-GTX1060-6G-GAMING, and ROG STRIX-GTX1060-O6G-GAMING. The DUAL-GTX1060-O6G has a base clock of 1569 MHz and the ROG STRIX-GTX1060-6G-GAMING has a base clock of 1506 MHz. Does that mean that the DUAL-GTX1060-O6G will outperform or get higher FPS than the ROG STRIX-GTX1060-6G-GAMING? If so by how many FPS and why does the ROG STRIX-GTX1060-6G-GAMING cost more? What is the difference in the ROG STRIX line of Asus products? From what I see the DUAL-GTX1060-6G cost more than the DUAL-GTX1060-O6G but I don't get that since the DUAL-GTX1060-O6G has a higher clock. How much of a difference does 60 80 or 100 MHz make in FPS? Thank you.

The number of Mhz on one may be higher than the other, but we're talking about 50 Mhz or 100 Mhz, with that there won't be a noticable difference in fps, maybe 2 or 3fps on the most Mhz GPU. As the 3.0 boost will make all of them reach 2000Mhz.

The main difference between the cards are the material they're made with, number of fans, overclockable, etc.

With that in mind, i'd choose the one that's cheaper & looks prettier for you where you leave as they'll be great cards nonetheless.

for a list of all the card models with specs and reviews where available see this thread. http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-3047729/nvidia-geforce-gtx-1000-series-megathread-faq-resources.html#17902600

there are a crazy number of models by all the brands. and not a one stands out in performance from the rest. as blackbird says, only a couple fps difference between them. grab the one that looks best to you and is priced right. won't be much difference between them at all. boost 3.0 will take care of clock speeds and boost them all beyond what they are clocked at out of the box

I have been looking around and thinking about getting a MSI card. They say MSI cools as good or better but more quiet and seems like MSI might be a better card than I thought they was.

Yes, MSI's GPU are great. They became a very solid third-party company with good products overall.
You won't regret getting a GPU from them, i got a MSI ARMOR 6G OC GTX 1060 from them and it works like a charm.
Cool and very quiet too!

I got the ROG STRIX-GTX1060-O6G-GAMING. I thought I posted the video in this post. I was wrong. Here is the original post. These videos are short not the whole battle. I am posting the x264 and NVENC because one encoder is suppose to be harder on your CPU than the other and it was talked about in that other post.

In this video I did not change any settings in the game or OBS Studio. Only my video card..
In this video I change from using x264 to NVENC. No game settings were changed.
These 2 has the game settings changed to max. and using x264 in one and NVENC in the other.
