Basically what the title says. I have an AMD 6300 and Im looking to overclock it, hard as i can but also being stable and not blowing up. I figure since i have the h100i, I can overclock pretty well, but im looking for a ghz number. Im hoping I can push 5ghz especially since i have a great mobo and water cooler.. but i wanted to get outside opinions before i tried anything. Thanks!!

AMD 6300
Corsair h100i v2 liquid cooling
Msi 990FXA gaming mobo
GTX 960
EVGA 750w PSU

Good luck. My 2 x FX-6300 and my 1 x FX-6350 topped out at 4.7 GHz. I thought that was pretty good. But maybe you are a better OC'er than I am. The 240mm cooler will help some if heat is the limiting factor. In my case, it was throttling that made me quit.

What do you mean by throttling?

Automatically slowing its core speed down to save itself from overtemp. But in my case, the temps were still below max.

Right. I still had a thermal margin in the double digits when the cores began to throttle. This happened when I tried to go above 4.7 GHz. Same on both 6300s and the 6350. Same thing on both a Gigabyte 990FXA UD3 and Asrock Extreme6.

Hey!!! Im running 5ghz and my temps are great and my voltage is normal. I appreciate the input though... I might take it down to 4.7 or 4.8 though just to be on the safe side.
