I started my first build and now since i finished it i'm trying to connect it to a t.v, i also have a graphics board installed ( a nvidia geforce GT 740) And when im trying to connect it to my tv using the hdmi on the motherbaord nothing shows up, and so i looked online and saw that if you already installed the GPU (Which i have) that you have to use those sockets, But on the motherboard indicated led lights it says the gpu isn't detected (is that because i haven't downloaded the drivers?) And before i buy new wires i want to know which ones can i use. The motherboard had a dvi-d and hdmi, and the graphics card has a dvi-D (which i would prefer not to use) and a mini-hdmi, is it the motherboard or graphics can that i need to buy for.

Solution
Motherboard graphics will be disabled with a GPU installed and yes you probably need to install drivers for it to be fully recognized. Disconnect the GPU and your motherboard HDMI output will work, until you get the relevant cable.
