Can the intel i5-6402p quad core 2.8ghz in my prebuilt gaming PC run any games from 2012-Today?

Just wondering since I just bought Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition on Steam and it's horrendously laggy on my PC for some reason. Idk if it's because I need an intel i7 instead of an i5 or if I'm just doing something wrong. It can't be my RAM since it already has 8GB.

I was just checking on my device manager and it says I have an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 and an Intel HD Graphics 510. The recommended graphics card for Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition, according to steam's system requirement, is an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560.

How do I switch it from the Intel HD Graphics 510 to the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 if that might be the cause of the horribly unplayable fps?

I've tried that already and it's still not working for some reason. I've tried going to NVIDIA Control Panel to find the preferred graphics processor option and for some weird reason, it's not there in global settings tab as it's supposed to so I'm stuck with the Intel HD graphics 510 at the moment.

Idk. I've plugged in the DVI cable to the lower port where the GPU is located and connected to, with the MSI labeled on it inside of my destop tower. Somehow, the CPU/Intel fan is still running without the DVI being connected to it's port while the GPU fans are still not spinning at all.

Never mind. My framerate for Sleeping Dogs is now finally running properly and can finally play it at a great framerate. The DVI is connected to the dedicated GPU but the fans aren't running. Idk if that's supposed to happen or not.

If your monitor is plugged into the 960 then its using the 960 mate.
The Intel fan should still spin (that's the CPU fan & will always spin , the Intel graphics are built into the cpu)
A lot of 960's have a zero fan profile (below 60c the fans don't spin up)

Is the 960 shown under display adapter in control panel/device manager ??

Yeah. I finally figured everything out now and have my games running at the fps they're supposed to run now.
