After i turn on my pc I can enter in the bios and eventually choose from which device boot. After the boot start, the pc freeze. If I launch Windows 7 (the SO OS currently installed in the hard disk) PC freeze just after the logo appears. If I boot from an Ubuntu Live USB i can choose what to do next (install Ubuntu, try Ubuntu without install it, check the hard disk or the memory) but any option I choose the screen flash one time and them the pc freezes.

I have already tried with a different hard disk: I bought a new one, but nothing change. I have also reset the Bios and unplugged the battery and rams.

I do not know what else to try. Any suggestion?

Give some info about the parts in the pc. For the psu means maker/model/wattgae.

If having 2 ramsticks try with one,try each slot.Test with the other too.

If you can switch the sata cable to the hdd as well, maybe use the one from the dvd player if not having one extra.

Thanks for the reply and sorry if I answer so late. Unfortunately none of your solutions worked. Here some spec about the pc, I don't know how to find other informations. I forgott to mention that it's a 6 years old machine and it worked without problems so far.
