Hello,
I have a AMD-A10 6800K APU, and I have a new GTX 1060 installed as well. I used hwinfo to check and it doesn't look like then 1060 is being used as the primary GPU. It detects it as being installed though.

I went through BIOS to disable the integrated GPU, but it disabled everything else in the process so I had to reset the BIOS to even see anything. When I did try using the 1060 as the sole GPU, only one time did i even see anything on the monitor, and i believe it said to plug in all PCIe cables (did this last night so not quoted word for word). There's only one PCIe slot as far as I can see, and it was plugged in.

I assume I can't disable the integrated card because it's also part of the CPU, but how do i make the 1060 my primary GPU?

kind of offtopic, but i also want to thank this wonderful website. People have been really helpful here and I truly appreciate it.

the problem there is when i connect the hdmi to the 1060, it never shows anything

Well you have to keep trying, you can only fully use your gtx 1060 when you have the monitor connected to the 1060.

I reseated the card, unplugged replugged the hdmi a few times but nothing has changed.
Would the drivers affect this? I have been having some weird issue where it downloads the updates via Geforce Experience, restart immediately, then when i run it again, it redownloads the drivers again.

Remove any old drivers. And try and see if there is any display from the 1060.

Remove all both AMD and Nvidia graphic drivers. And make sure you turn off window from automatically downloading drivers.

Dunno why i cant reply.
I did all that, neither display works. I feel like its trying to use the hdmi slot, im not sure why its not displaying.
Wepl now im not sure what to do honestly. Is there a way to reset this stuff? I did a driver backuo before everything.
I appreciate the help by the way, just frustrated a bit.

Uninstall the 1060 and use the display ports on your motherboard.

Sigh. I think i know what the problem is. Its my fault for not mentionong it, i thought i did. I only have a 6 pin while the 1060 obviously needs the 8 pin. The 6 pin fit so i thought it would work at the time, but clearly not. I have another PSU that i was going to return, but it has the proper cable. Should i even risk trying to force it to work (my mobo shuts itself down when i try to use it) or get an adapter?
If this is the reason, i apologize for wasting your time.
